The shop has been a blur of balsa dust and CNC chips lately, and for good reason. I’m excited to announce that Hogue Outdoor Customs will be heading to Madison for the Wisconsin Fishing Expo this year.

For a builder based in Ottawa, IL, this show is a highlight on the calendar. It’s a chance to step away from the workbench and get face-to-face with the folks who actually put our tools to work on the water.

What We’re Bringing to the Table

We’ve been working overtime to ensure the booth is stocked with the gear you’ve been asking for. We’ll have a full spread of our signature lures, including:

  • Hand-Tuned Balsa Crankbaits: Including the latest runs of the River Hunter 2.0 and the Steady Eddy.

  • Walleye & Sauger Essentials: A fresh batch of Valley Dancers and our 60° Standup Jigs, specifically poured for the river runs.

  • Custom Mold Samples: For the builders out there, I’ll have some of our CNC-cut aluminum molds on hand. If you’ve been thinking about turning your own lure design into a production-ready mold, come by and let’s talk about the process.

Join Us in Madison

If you’re heading to the expo, please stop by the booth and say hello. There’s nothing quite like holding a balsa bait in your hand to understand the weight and the craft that goes into it compared to a plastic alternative.

Where: Alliant Energy Center, Madison, WI When: February 27th - March 1st

I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones. Let’s get ready for the spring thaw together.
