Folks it's already mid August! We have been busy as can be in the shop building lures for the site and of course starting our stock build up for the up coming show season.
One big addition to our shop this year has been a new cnc machine. We've been working hard to get up to speed making lure molds. Our client list has started to grow and we are officially ready to go live with it here on the website. On the menu bar above you will see CNC Services has been added to the list. In this page you will find informaiton on how to get a free quote from us to get your own custom lure mold built.
I started this because I've been ate up with lure building for many years. Nothing has topped the feeling of feeling that tug on the line when fishing a lure that you've spent hours in the shop crafting. My road to this point right now started back in 2006 when I found a Do It Flipping Jig mold in a bargin bin at the open house of one of my now great sponsors Bedford Sales and Outdoors.
Once I got going with that jig I learned that the 1/4oz flipping jig makes one heck of a swim jig! In fact for years that was all I fished with a Bass Pro Shops tournament craw as a trailer. Caught tons of fish on that jig.
My CNC journey started somewhere around 2018 when after a weekend of fishing this jig I spent alot of time pulling the skirt back over the collar. I kept looking and had different ideas of how I could fix that. Of course then came the idea of a custom mold. I work in IT as my day job and of course no stranger to tech so I began researching desktop mills. Then I began learning software and design and modeling. Fast forward to today we are now setup with a mill and have turned out quite a few molds for different lures of ours as well as new customers.
Of course I havent' built the mold that started this whole journey yet. I don't know maybe I'll get it designed and do a youtube video on cutting that mold to bring everything full circle.
What I'm trying to say after all the ranting and if you are still with me, while I'm focusing on alot of my own lure offerings, I'm also focused on morphing into a service that can help you the folks that might have a small tackle company and want help getting a new design off the ground. Or that guy who has an idea he wants to keep for himself but needs help to make it a reality.
My other favorite part of all of this is when someone runs up and shows me a picture of a nice fish they caught on one of my lures. It makes all the hours worth it. I look forward to working with some of you here in the future to help make some more memories on the water.
Tight Lines!
