Product Description: The Valley Dancer
A Versatile Performer from the Illinois River Valley
The Valley Dancer was born out of necessity on the Illinois River. Originally designed as a specialized alternative for pulling 3-way rigs for Walleye and Sauger, it has evolved into one of the most versatile balsa tools in our shop. Whether it’s being dragged through river current or twitched over a shallow rock flat, the "dance" is what sets this bait apart.
Two Ways to Fish the Dancer:
-
The Walleye Rig: For the river angler, this bait excels on a 3-way rig. We recommend a 24" dropper on your weight to pin the Valley Dancer right in the strike zone near the bottom. Its balsa buoyancy keeps it active and vibrating even at slow trolling speeds.
-
The Smallmouth Cast: Beyond the rig, the Valley Dancer has become a staple for shallow-water Smallmouth. It features a unique, high-frequency rolling action on a steady retrieve that's hard for a bronzeback to ignore. If the fish are aggressive, work it with a "twitch-and-pause" retrieve to mimic a dying baitfish.
Designed, modeled, and manufactured in-house, the Valley Dancer is a testament to what happens when you build a tool to solve a specific problem and end up with a new favorite for the whole season.
